Interpersonal communication

“Making Meaning in the Immersion Classroom” helps immersion teachers understand the concept of comprehensible output and how to encourage students to use oral communication during interactive communication. This video describes the ACTFL proficiency levels and presents a variety of classroom scaffolds to prepare students to speak. It also shows how these scaffolds can be used in whole group, pair-share, and group work.

Comprehensible input

Video developed to help immersion teachers understand the concept of comprehensible input and to enable teachers to make input comprehensible to students. Although developed with the immersion classroom in mind, teachers in other types of language programs will find the concepts and strategies applicable to their settings as well.
